Same result. I tried the PC Origin client as well as the Origin web site in a browser directly - same result. I'm using google authenticator successfully on MANY other sites and services. Could it be the case that your site is generating invalid codes? Or, do you know of any browser add-ons that might be conflicting with QR code generation though that wouldn't explain why the Origin client is generating bad ones.

Go to Solution. January I had the same problem but then realized the QR code is actually a link to google authenticator in the app store.

If you click the continue button, you will get another QR code which has the proper configuration for google authenticator. I don't know why they added a QR code to the app on the first page, it should be on a separate "help" page or something View in thread.

I've tried the same, and have contacted their support, only to be told that "QR codes aren't working right now. March September April - last edited April Just tried moving my authenticator to a new device, and the QR code stumped me as well.

The step to change devices is confusing enough had to switch to a different method, then switch back , but since it has been a while, I tried scanning the QR code and failed.

Only after I googled and found this thread was I able to get the authenticator set up. Fun tip: If you have the Microsoft Authenticator on your Android device, you can tell EA that you have a Windows Phone, and then use the resulting code to set up in Microsoft Authenticator instead. Useful if you already use the Microsoft Authenticator because you have an Office or Outlook mail account and don't want to install Google's Authenticator as to save on your phone's storage.
